A new video detail the history of the Morse key has been added to YouTube.
It details the history of the Morse key from the very first ‘Correspondent’
key through the Camelback to keys like Bunnell’s steel lever key, as well
as many other keys including those for the military use. It also details
keys including the sideswiper used to reduce operator strain. It shows the
Vibroplex bug and finally electronic keyers and paddles.

Texas APRS balloon crosses Atlantic



The solar powered amateur radio APRS balloon BTL-42.1 W5BTR-11 has
successfully crossed the Atlantic



The balloon was released by the South Texas Balloon Launch Team on February
7 and its signal was picked up at 17:57 UT on February 10 off the coast of
Northern Spain....

Hams hack $110 DMR radio to allow support for D-STAR, P25 and System Fusion

Hams have reverse engineered or “hacked” one of the most popular DMR radios
on the market today – the Chinese made TYT MD-380, allowing for a fully
open source firmware to be uploaded into the radio, allowing support for
D-STAR, P25 and System Fusion.
