John Welsh (G0NVZ) Awarded Honorary Membership

At the AGM in February, our club Chairman David G4HHJ, announced that the
club was granting John Welsh G0NVZ, honorary membership of the club in
recognition of the outstanding service he has given the club over very many
years.

He said John had made a major contribution by writing articles for the
club’s monthly newsletters explaining, in simple terms the complexity of a
wide range of subjects. Many of the articles have also appeared in RadCom
under the ‘Start Here’ and the ‘Moving On’ series.

In addition, David said he was also giving the Chairman’s ‘Deserving
Member’ award to John. Â*The award takes the form of a mounted segment of a
floor tile from the original building housing the Marconi transmitter at
Poldhu, Cornwall. Â*It is only given from time to time and at the discretion
of the Chairman.
