Wythall Radio Club members are proud to announce a new arrival in the
club
shack! Yesterday we took delivery of a new Icom IC-7300. This is a radio
which is taking the world by storm. It is a true software-defined radio,
but unlike most SDRs it doesnt need a computer to work it. It has []

never buy the first version of anything I say .....

But when they are software defined, it's now easy to put in fixes via
software patches.

the PA will be the usual piece of junk and power will fall off to 50w at 12
v .....

Unless it's sealed, that would be one area that is relatively easy to
repair, whether it's a software radio or not. I just pulled out a box of
boards, I was looking for that box for a while, parts of a 2m commercial
transceiver. I can probably use the PA module to boost the power of the
Icom 02-AT I bought last year at a garage sale. If anthing is wrong in the
module, parts can easily be had, and it's relatively uncompact etc.
