My question is this....does anyone know of any websites which discuss rf
routers, from an rf point of view?
For example is the transmitter on the circuit board inside the computer or
laptop. or is it in a separate external box.
All the ones I've seen are self-contained, with fixed-mounted
antennas.
Are they using 2.4 ghz and 5.x ghz?
I know that 802.11b uses 2.4, and I seem to recall that 802.11g
uses 5, but I'm not 100% certain. Perhaps someone else?
As an aside: My take on any type of wireless networking is that it
is inherently insecure. WEP can be cracked in a matter of hours with the
right tools.
If you must use wireless, use it with a VPN tunnel to your LAN.
