Default Using Arduino Uno for analog to digital conversion of a Collins VFO

I am looking into taking a analog signal in the 2.5 to 2.7 MHz range from my Collins tube gear and converting that into a format suitable for the Icom CAT protocol.

I am not sure the Arduino Uno DAC is fast/accurate enough to do the job.

From what I read, the Arduino can be made to look like a COM port using the USB port so no code needs to be written on the PC to display the VFO frequency.

Any comments on the project would be appreciated.

I now have this project working using a PC as the display, an Arduino Uno micro controller and a 2N3904 amplifiers/buffer. Total cost is less than $15.00. The code has been modified to work on the Heathkit SB100 series as well. Contact me if you want a copy of the code for the Arduino.
