We start with the unexpected and sad news that Rupert Thorogood, G3KKT,
became a Silent Key last weekend. Among many other achievements he was
Company Secretary of the RSGB from 2006 until his death. Our thoughts are
with his family at this very difficult time.

RSGB 2016 Convention

The RSGB 2016 Convention takes place on 7 to 9 October 2016 at Kents Hill
Conference Centre, Milton Keynes. There is the opportunity to sit the
Foundation and Intermediate exams on Saturday the 8th, and the Advanced
exam on Sunday the 9th. To enroll as a candidate, please contact the RSGB

New RSGB Microwave Manager

The RSGB Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Barry Lewis, G4SJH
to the position of Microwave Manager. Barry brings considerable experience
to the role from homebrew and contesting to regulatory affairs. He succeeds
Murray Niman, G6JYB, who had been covering the role since his appointment

Schools Link project starts

Now that the Tim Peake school contacts have finished, you might be thinking
that it is all over. As far as the RSGB is concerned, this is just the
beginning of another big project. The RSGB has set up the Schools Link
Project to work initially with the 10 ARISS contact schools to develop
wireless-related []

As we announced last week, GB2RS newsreader Peter Robinson, G8MSQ passed
away last week. His funeral will take place on 5 July at Kingswood Chapel,
Worthing Crematorium, Horsham Road, Findon, Worthing, BN14 0RG at 12.20pm.
