The WA9PIE-2 DX cluster system has moved to a
hosted environment in the Google Cloud. In late July, the hosting service
where WA9PIE-
2 resided suffered a disk/storage failure that
destroyed the files and data that ran the
system. This caused an outage for a few weeks
while engineers at the hosting service
attempted to recover the system. That recovery
was unsuccessful and WA9PIE-2 was rebuilt from
scratch on servers within that data center.

The perfect and well selected DX amateur radio equipment offers more to any
particular user than any of the other radio signals transmitting device
within the same price range. A lot has been said and written about ham
radio equipments over the years. However, that has not helped in
demystifying the numerous misconceptions about ham radio components. The
perfect and well selected DX amateur radio equipment offers more to any
particular user than any of the other radio signals transmitting device
within the same price range. The usefulness of amateur radio equipments
have been far improved by mobile phones: This is a complete misconception
when it comes to amateur radio equipments and their usefulness. Whilst
mobile phones are limited in their ability to aid in communications to only
speech and text, amateur radio devices go beyond such limits to helping
people send radio signals even to the surface of the moon. Moreover, unlike
most mobile phones which are rendered useless during natural disasters that
destroy transmissions masts and poles, the amateur radio device remains one
of the few communication equipments that remain functional even in times of
natural disasters like earthquakes.
