Greene County officials announced the annual Hamvention event will relocate
there after the Hara Arena closes.



Greene County Agricultural Society Board of Directors made the announcement

The FAST radio astronomy dish (Tianyan), in People’s Republic of China
(PRC), is now the largest antenna in the world, beating the United States’
Arecibo dish. Over 500 meters in diameter, it is designed for medium and
short wavelength studies of the cosmos, addressing issues of
universe-origins, pulsars and collapsed stars, galaxy formation, and the
search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI), among others.

2016 Hurricanes and Tropical Storms

Hurricanes and Tropical Storms are still in the news. Both the Atlantic
and Pacific are seeing these storms develop late in the 2015 season. Alex
is the first hurricane to form during January in the Atlantic since 1938.
The hurricane season for 2016 starts in June.
