Dear Hams,



To continue awareness drive in West India region, wonderful hands on
session on Ham Radio - Practical Insight was conducted at Parul University
- Baroda (Gujarat - INDIA) on 8th September 2016.



Around 150 Engineering (EC) student & faculties participated in the program
& gain knowledge on the subject.



In-depth Presentation on Ham Radio, Interesting Ham Radio Events, Video
Documentary & SSTV Live demo was carried out by VU2EXP Rajesh Vagadia.

2016 Hurricanes and Tropical Storms

Hurricanes and Tropical Storms are still in the news. Both the Atlantic
and Pacific are seeing these storms develop late in the 2015 season. Alex
is the first hurricane to form during January in the Atlantic since 1938.
The hurricane season for 2016 starts in June.



Visit the US Naval Observatory-Joint Typhoon Warning Center for the latest
images and data for the Pacific region.

Radio hams invited to test APRS on Duchifat-1



Duchifat-1, the Israeli high school students 1U
CubeSat launched June 19, 2014, is ready for its first public tests.
People with the ability to send Compressed APRS location packets are
invited to join the tests.



The satellite will collect these packets worldwide
along its flight at 620 km high orbit, and will downlink them from time to
time...
