FCC Report 11/6: The End Of The 250 Mile Translator Waiver

The two waiver periods to move a translator up to 250 miles have come to an
end.

The RadioInsight AM Translator Tracker currently shows the following
statistics for the two filing windows:

Total Applications: 1047

CPs Granted: 860

Dismissals: 35

Applications Replaced With Another Station: 7

Pending Applications: 145

Among those 145 pending applications are five pairs of mutually exclusive
filings (107.5 Austin TX, 107.5 Minneapolis, 106.3 Portland OR, 103.3 San
Diego, and 95.9 St. Louis).

Coming up in 2017 will be an open filing window for AM stations that did
not participate in the 250 mile waiver window. These stations will be
offered available frequencies on a first-come first-served basis. The FCC
has not yet announced the full specifics of this filing window or when it
will take place.
