Using a Kenwood TS-590 and DX Engineering RF-PRO-1B Magnetic Loop

Anyone here have first hand experience using a Kenwood TS-590 with the DX
Engineering RF-PRO-1B Magnetic Loop?
I have been unable to get the relay actuation circuit to turn off the
antenna pre-amplifier when I transmit. What menu items did you turn on/off
with the TS-590? Did you use the "DRV" connection? Or something else?
Did you have to change the dip switches inside power inserter?

I have two hamstick bases that have no markings.
the measurements, taken from the top, where the whip would be inserted,
down:
Base one Base two
8" 10" single wire spiraled on
main shaft
9 1/4" 2" solid section (loading)
31 3/4" 38" single wire spiraled on main
shaft
49 3/4" 50" total length from top (where
whip inserted) to top...

In Search of an RF Switch Design for Software-defined Resonant Antenna

Hi,
A while back an ambitious new antenna project was kicked off to
research "software-defined resonant antennas" (SDRA), in order to create
resonant, high-gain multi-band antennas that have no mechanical moving
parts, are always resonant (no transmitter matching tuner) and software
controlled for auto-tuning. Essentially, software detects the latest RF
signals "band" and then automatically re-tunes the antenna by...

Using a dipole as a ground plane

I know that this is probably a stupid question but I was thinking about
installing an antenna system and this thought came to my mind. If I had a
40 m vertical antenna mounted on my roof could I use two dipole antennas
one oriented for a north south radiation pattern one oriented for east west
would function as a ground plane for a vertical. Again probably a stupid
question it was just an interesting thought
