Hey everyone!
Im pretty new to the hobby, having passed my license a couple weeks ago.
Ive purchased a nice handheld and Im having fun with it.
Were remodeling the house, and I have the opportunity to customize my
office so that a part of the space can be devoted to my new hobby.
Id like to have a desk facing an interior wall. That wall is about 12 feet
away from the driveway wall, where I can pop out of the house into a NEMA
box. From that box, I can pull whatever coax I like and...

Legal limit EFHW transformer

Im currently running an end-fed line at 154 out of a Palomar 9:1 UNUN. The
wire is longer than 1/2 wave at 80M since the 9:1 is not sufficient to feed
the large impedance of a true 1/2 wave. The 154 gives me VSWR minima in
convenient places without being resonant at those places.
Ive looked with interest on the true EFHW antennas (at 132), and the
relatively good reviews. I wanted to give the approach a shot, so I
ordered a MEF-330-2K 2KW ICAS 50:1 transformer. I want to add an...

New Diamaond CR8900A Antenna - Do you have one?
Posted: 01 Mar 2017 07:07 PM PST
http://forums.qrz.com/index.php?thre...ve-one.555684/
I am replacing my antenna, an older 8900A and just saw a picture of the new
fold over
that they started shipping sometime last year.
Has anybody bought one of these?
What are your thought, this one or the old style?
Is that a locking nut I see to keep it in the pocket?
TIA

Help Identifying Tower

I have several sections of tower that I bought about 25 years ago from the
widow of a friend of mine. I have been told that it was a from an FM radio
station that replaced it with a larger taller tower. It is bolted
construction and has steps on one face about 24 inches apart. Each
section is ten feet long and about 18 inches on each face. There are five
bolts in each leg per joint.
Does anybody know who manufactured this tower?

Mystery Box of Antenna Parts - What is this?
Posted: 01 Mar 2017 05:24 PM PST

This antenna was found neatly packaged in a cardboard box in the shed of a
recent SK from our club. It seems to be a rotatable HF Dipole but the open
traps and lack of any identifying marks have created a mystery as to the
make and model. Any ideas?
