Kerry Amateur Radio Group
At last weekends KARG monthly meeting (Sat 25th), Tom EI3AL gave a very
good presentation on his recent Arduino keyer project. A good
discussion was had on upcoming KARG events.
The first event will be the Maurice Collins Vintage Day at Banna on
Easter Sunday (16th April), where KARG will set up two working stations
for display to the public, in an effort to promote the hobby locally.
The following day, Easter Monday, KARG plan to participate in the
annual 2M IRTS Counties Contest.
The week after that, KARG will participate in the International Marconi
Day (Sat 22nd Apr) as an award station, using the call EI6YXQ from
Ballybunion. YXQ was the original callsign used by Marconi in 1919 from
Ballybunion, to make the first telephonic transmission East to West
across the Atlantic. KARG will run several stations covering SSB/CW and
Data modes. Visitors and members from other clubs are very welcome to
come along and join in the fun.
The next KARG meeting will be held on Sat 29th April in Killarney at
11am.
KARG would also like to welcome its newest members Krishna EI4HAB and
Sukumar (SWL) to the club.
