I understand the Commies were going to invade within twenty four hours
and the Germans thought they would have a psychological advantage and
better propaganda if they went first. Later on, the murder of over 3000
Polish officers by the Russians was quickly made to look like a Nazi
atrocity. That number was miniscule compared to the 20 million total
killed off by the saviours of the proletariat in general and Stalin in
particular.
