After decades of service...and excellent performance, at

AOR no longer services the radio. AOR UK is out of business. And
Bourns, which made the encoder, discontinued it some time ago.

So, $1800 paperweight?

Or anyone have any assistance?

Just Googled it: Bourns part number is ENA1j-B28-L00100(l). It is about 40 to 50 USD.

Bourns says it's discontinued. But you may have stumbled on some old
stock. I'll track that down.

Thanks to all for the advice. It was suggested, privately, that I may
be able to repair the old one.

And, not being afraid to get my fingers dirty, you've given me several
options, that should be a fun project to bring it back.

See, we get away from politics, and we all come together.

First one to sing Kum-bah-yah, gets it.

Hopefully you'll get it fixed. This group has been getting away from shortwave for a bit
now!

You might want to put up an ad at
www.swap.qth.com (it's free!) and see what you might find.

Good point. I'd forgotten about them.

One of the suggestions was to contact a guy in the UK who was an AOR
engineer. He has parts.

I did.

And, he does.

Thanks for all the help.

Oh...and while the AOR is down, I've had to revert to my Drake.

It sucks to have to slum it like that.

LOL!

They keep screwing with the internet, if that stops working, Ham Radio will always be there.
