Just wanted to let everyone [who might read this] know that I am looking to purchase
a spectrum analyzer. Make and model is not terribly important. Just looking for
something that works reasonably well, has fairly good input sensitivity (measurements
made from an antenna are prime objective) and has a top end of at least 1Ghz.

I've looked on ebay. Most of these unit are running at least $1000.00 - $1500.00 or
over. If anyone's recently purchased a new 6 or 22Ghz SA, and would like to get rid
of that older one that might be sitting in the closet, I'd be interested. Thanks.

Dave

You are unlikely to get one for free, at least one that works. Look
for a clean HP 141T / 8552B / 8554B or 8554L rig on eBay. It should be
possible to find a package like that for less than $600.00. Manuals are
usually available on CD from the same source.
