160m Receiving Loop Aerial

I work a lot of DX on 160m . . . but sadly have never had room for a
Beverage receiving aerial.

And of course, the ever increasing problem on 160m is the noise from local
domestic equipment.

So . . . I thought Id make a receiving loop.

Im not sure why so many people make their loops out of copper pipe or
co-ax, and just a single turn. Fine, you may need to do that if you want
to make a "Magnetic Loop" transmitting aerial . . . but I figured for
receive Id be better off...

elevated vertical vs inverted v

Its antenna season again and the thoughts of many a young man turn to
climbing ladders and hanging out attic windows in an attempt to propagate
their signal to the world. Ok, perhaps Im projecting...

I currently have a DX-CC strung from a few kite poles mounted outside my
attic window (see my QRZ page for a picture). This puts the feed point
around 45ft up and gives the V close to a 90 degree angle between the
legs. Overall Im pretty happy with how it performs. But lately Ive been...

EFHW-8010 Antenna Recommdation

Hi All,

I have a EFHW-8010 antenna from myantennas.com at approx. 30 feet, running
West turning NorthEast.

I get a lot of European contacts and a good amount of South American

and very few to the West (QTH Maryland USA).

I have tried making an "L" shape... West turning South, but it just doesnt
seem

to do as well.

Question is: Can anyone using this antenna give me some advice of a
configuration that

you have used that may help me get the most out of
this antenna?...

Woud a disguised Cobweb work the same?

A Cobweb sounds the ideal answer to my problem of working HF at home, where
I cant really have an antenna up.

Currently I am using a wire dipole for 20m that I put up after dark on a
telescopic fishing pole.

Id planned to build a 20, 30, and 40m trapped inverted V dipole which I can
just squeeze in using a 10m fishing pole. As I understand it, each trap
will add loss (I was planning on tuning in band for simplicity which is
worst loss case scenario) and also narrow the bandwidth of the...

Need help with Alpha Delta DX-A

Howdy Folks,

Need some info. My G5RV got destroyed during Irma so I bought a DX-A

Now I made the mistake of reading the install instructions, lol I have a 50
Rohm tower and have a hex beam on top

So the instructions say must be mounted on a tower under a full size HF
antenna

Then a note, a hex type beam will not work

The dx-a uses the hf antenna as a cap hat

So I have to ask, has anyone installed a dx-a under a hex beam and had it
time up Ok?

Or should I send it back to rho

Thanks and 73...
