Don't get your hopes up to high. The Republicans control most of the
States and get to gerrymander Congressional districts as they see fit.
Nothing new, Illinois could be the most gerrymandered state in the Union,
but it's one of the few states still being gerrymandered by Democrats.

A large majority of the Senators up for reelection are Democrats. It's
going to be tough to break even, let alone get ahead.

The Magnificent TRUMP is President because the Democratic Party has been
rotting away for years.
