NO, this is not gutting the FT-243 crystal holder, to insert a modern HC-49
crystal,

seen on eBay by Asian and USA resellers.

OR the K4CGE surgical method of extracting a crystal from an HC-6/U holder
and

carefully soldering into the Ft-243 holder.
