Diplexer Question

Posted: 15 Jan 2018 01:19 AM PST
https://forums.qrz.com/index.php?thr...estion.595413/

Total noob question he

Are diplexers omnidirectional ? That is, do the feed lines operate in both
directions ??

I have a 4-element dualband antenna with separate BNC connectors for each
band. A diplexer as seen below should work to combine both feedlines into
just one coax connection, yes ?

I sure hope so, because my TX only has one 144/430 input.. :/

8 Element 2m fm yagi over a 5 element tri band yagi

Posted: 14 Jan 2018 09:58 PM PST
https://forums.qrz.com/index.php?thr...d-yagi.595361/

Hi

I intend to put a 8 element 2m FM yagi above my 5 element tri band yagi.

The tri bander driven element is at the mast pipe.

The 2m yagi will be vertically polorised.

Question 1---How far above the HF yagi should the 2m beam be.

Question 2---Should I put the 2m beam parallel to the beam or at right
angles to it.

Cheers From Bruce VK2HOT

Any Thoughts on the Chameleon Portable HF Stealth Antennas?

Posted: 14 Jan 2018 09:42 PM PST
https://forums.qrz.com/index.php?thr...tennas.595399/

I live in a town home with limted space. I was thinking of putting up a
Chameleon portable HF antenna outside from a mast on my roof to a tree with
my Yaesu FT450D for a base antenna.

Anyone have any thoughts on these antennas?

Any other suggestions?

20m Extended Double Zepp with Enhancements - ERRATA

Posted: 14 Jan 2018 07:20 PM PST
https://forums.qrz.com/index.php?thr...errata.595374/

I published an antenna article in CQ Magazine last year in the February,
2017 issue on this antenna design.

Unfortunately I somehow picked off the wrong numbers for the element
dimensions out of my EZNEC file.

I discovered the error and sent the errata sheet to CQ and they will get
around to publishing it sometime soon.

I also reached out to each of those who contacted me about the antenna and
gave them the correct dimensions.

Here is the errata sheet in case someone on the board saw it...

G5RV 102' swr question

Howdy, just one question. Inverted v config. Sometimes I tune to a
wonderful swr and then in an hour or 3 the tuner cant tune too well. Is
this sometimes a normal thing for my less than perfect antenna? And I
realize its many faults I just want to know if this is sometimes normal.
Thanks in advance.

Butternut HF9V Help!!

I just put up my Butternut HF9V, ground mounted. I have 36 radials
installed via a radial plate as per the manufactures instructions. I also
have it grounded at the base to a 10 copper earth grounding rod, Im using
the 75 ohm feedline. My SWR is off the chart on all bands, I mean 5:1 +. So
it seems the antenna is not radiating any of my signal, its all being
reflected back. I cannot figure it out, I have been through the manual a
dozen times and cant find anything that I missed. I have...

Noise - coming from my neighbor's house - woot!

So today a contractor for the local power company came out with gear and
localized the noise on 20m as coming from my neighbors house (with whom I
have a good relationship). Im excited to talk to them this evening about
shutting down breakers to see whats causing the issue and will offer to pay
for whatever it is within reason to replace it.

I started this journey with s7-9 on both 20m and 40m... I started by
raising my roof mounted DXEE dipole antenna, then adding a common mode
choke at...

Yeast G-550

Hi Guys

Im trying to restore a G-550 rotator controller that has been modified for
use with an external computer linked controller. I seek clarification of
the transformer wiring as this looks to be the reason this unit is
malfunctioning. Can any of you get a quick photo of the xfmr for me please?

The cover is removed by simply unscrewing the four rubber feet on the
bottom of the casing.

160 M dipole trouble

Posted: 14 Jan 2018 07:54 AM PST
https://forums.qrz.com/index.php?thr...rouble.594505/

Hello this is Jim KB8YBG, I built a 160m dipole using a 1:1 balun. I
installed it 35 on my tower and came down in a inverted V. using the 468
formula and centered at 1.900 I come up with 246.2. After installing swr is

1.800-4

1.850-2.3

1.900-4

1.950-off chart....

so puzzeled, I use 14gu coated wire. I have wire dipoles for 17, 30, 40,
80 and have no problem. Thanks for any help.

ZeroFive 43 ft. vertical experience?

Does anyone have a ZeroFive 43 ft. 160M - 10M vertical antenna that may
have been called Force 12 years ago that would share your experience on
this?

I found various pieces of sketchy info that is not always impressive.

I asked Tom, the designer, about propagation charts for this antenna based
on use of the 43 ft radials and received no response.
