Default SMD practice

In article ,
says...

Starting out late in life as an SMD convert, what
are the tricks, techniques, hints and kinks that
you use for assembling them?

Look on youtube for the videos.

YOu need a stereo microscope. Amscope makes one that is 10 power for
just under $ 200 that works well. Then a hot air rework station. There
are some for about $ 60 on ebay that are good to get your feet wet with.
Goods ones are around $ 300 and up.

Some liquid flux, solder of around .015 and .025 in diameter. Solder
paste in the syringes. Tweezers and solder wick.

It is not hard, At 66 I tought myself to do it. Get some old computer
boards with the smd and practice on them removing and installing the
components.

If you can stand him, look for Louis Rossman on youtube.
