Adjusting Hallicrafters SX-85 Main Dial and Band Spread Position

Posted: 14 Feb 2018 08:16 AM PST
https://forums.qrz.com/index.php?thr...sition.597955/

I just received a Hallicrafters SX-85 that I won in an auction. The Main
Dial and Band Spread Dial are not in the home position when I turn the
dials all the way to the left or right.

Is it necessary to restring them to get them correct or is it possible to
carefully force the dial into the proper position to match the capacitors
position?

Thank you

Hallicrafters S-120 hum

https://forums.qrz.com/index.php?thr...20-hum.599239/

It has a hum, I substituted capacitors for all the filter capacitors,
replaced the diode. Still hums. The schematic I have found has differences,
for example the 1000 ohm resistor is marked 500 ohms and I measured 20 ohms
across it, resistors I have never found to go down. The 50C5 shows no pins
3 and 4 on the schematic but there are components connected to it. Ideas?
