And this is news why?

These devices, called 'sonobuoys' were designed, engineered and
manufactured by Sparton in Jackson, Michigan since the mid-50s.

from Google:

In 1956, the company adopted its brand name – Sparton – as its
company name. By then its emphasis had shifted to defense work with a
Navy contract to produce sonobuoys, devices used to detect enemy
submarines. They would be the backbone of Sparton's business for
decades.

By 1975, Sparton had produced more than 1.5 million sonobuoy units
and as Cold War tensions continued into the 1980s, the need grew even
more.

Well Larry, thanks for the latest news.

Wayyyy back in the olden days, a Cowboy in Colorado built himself a fine lookin house. Then he invited some people over for a house warming party. He lit the fireplace, the whole house burned down. He didn't know he had made his house out of coal. True Story.
