Locally GB100RAF is on air on any band that is open until next Sunday. I
did a rather poor FT8 few hours on Tuesday. The current version of FT8 does
not like the long callsign. New versions will soon be available. On FT8 I
am using G1RAF, I’m on Thursday so listen out Things have been lean again

used a G0KSC LFA Yagi to make contact with the ISS.

IARU-R1 VHF Handbook now available

IARU Region 1 has made available version 8.12 of the VHF Handbook as a free
PDF. At the IARU-R1 interim meeting in Vienna 2016 it was agreed to
reorganise the VHF Handbook to make it more readable for all interested
users

ever, combined open day, on Sunday 18th November from 10am to 4pm.
We will be opening up our huge warehouse to customers with a display of
used and vintage radios equipment, plus pallets full of clearance items at
silly prices

Europes third polar-orbiting weather satellite lofted into orbit

The third MetOp satellite, MetOp-C, has been launched on a Soyuz rocket
from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana to continue the provision of data
for weather forecasting from polar orbit
