Right now, the website says Illinois has 353 power failures out of 5.4 million customers. Mississippi has 953 power failures with just over 1 million customers.
Nearly everybody in both states are getting their power right now and I don't see much significance in these numbers.

have short power outages several times each year.
Sure, I can lose power because of lightning strikes but it comes back in a few seconds or minutes. The clock on my microwave oven drops out. I haven't had a power failure of over an hour for a few years.
I think we get even fewer of these glitches at work.
ComEd installed "smart meters" for their customers. These meters report back power use and power failures by radio. No more meter readers and ComEd knows about power failures immediately, often before I do. I know it's doing SOMETHING, because it's another damned RFI source. Sheesh.
