The US Department of Defense will host this year’s Armed Forces Day (AFD)
Cross-Band Test, Friday and Saturday, May 7 – 8, in recognition of Armed
Forces Day on May 15. The event is open to all radio amateurs

San Francisco sound engineer accidentally dosed with LSD while cleaning
1960s radio equipment

The synthesizer Eliot Curtis was cleaning was quite popular in the 1960s
when LSD-friendly musicians were looking for new sounds. Unbeknownst to
him, they left a few remnants behind

of four craters in Israel located in the Negev Desert. The operation will
use the callsign 4X0GDL between April 30th and May 1st
