Thats a good challenge. Lets introduce a new person to a Hamfest and see what
that person's impression of Ham radio is.

Fine. Let another club member (not you) show them around so that the
non-ham has a fighting chance to comprehend just what amateur radio is
and what a hamfest is all about.

What I am willing to bet is that if Vippy takes someone to a
Hamfest, the third party is likely to say "What the heck are you
talking about...these are just good people having fun", hence making
Vippy look even more foolish than what he does now.

You begin with false assumptions and attempt to
prove them to be true.

I didn't begin with any assumptions. I noticed these things at Hamfests.

Yes, you did. You've continued to hold those beliefs despite your
having been corrected on numerous occasions by those who have much more
experience than you. Quite often your stories end with you being
shocked by what passes for American culture, you being disappointed that
no one in a radio club wants to do what you want, you being dismayed
that hams set out for an operating activity and then waste that time by
operating or you being under the impression that your travel to a
domestic location was a "DXpedition". You seem to think that you are
just a normal guy in a sea or weirdness. Don't you find that peculiar?

He's got Third World-itis. Comes to America then wonders why
America isn't like the place he left.

Sheeesh.
