I am considering the ICOM 208H, and using it some of the time in a Jeep
Wrangler, and sometimes moving it to a fiberglass car (Fiero GT)

My question is about antennas for both applications...
Jeep: This is more of a mounting issue... I was considering a mag
mount, but there aren't really any horizontal services that would work
where it would look right (where the antenna would be vertical).
I may be resigned to drilling a hole in the side of the body in front of
the windshield and permanently mounting an antenna. What would be a
good antenna for use with the 208H for both VHF / UHF operation that
would allow a body mount on the side of the vehicle?

Fiero: This is an issue because of the plastic body and I don't want to
put holes in it. There is a small (about 10" square) metal plate under
the back deck, that I could put a mag mount on, but the car has been
recently repainted and I don't want to have something sitting on the
body that will affect the equal fading of the paint on the back deck.
I was considering a glass mount like the cell phone antennas, but can't
seem to find one advertised. And it needs to handle the 55W on VHF.

Thanks for your help...
