I talked with, (or saw the website of) a road driver that had mounted a
series of hustler
resonators on a bar that ran across the cab roof behind the wind deflector.
It looked
like a passenger car roof rack, with these resonators mounted to it on short
masts.
As they were behind the wind fairing (?) they were protected from wind and
the
truck did not look like a porcupine.

It ended up below the top of the trailer, but it was working.

I have also worked a truck that had a wire stretched from the front to back
of the
trailer and a foot or two off of the trailer roof.

All in all Id say one of the screwdriver types securley mounted sounds like
a better
arrangement.

Jeff, look at the Hi-Q antenna - they are more heavily-built, and are
gaining a lot of popularity with local drivers. Believe it or not, a lot

of
them are mirror-mounting those monsters...

I've been told that Mounting an antenna between cab and trailor is going

to
cause reflectivity problems and more than likely will harm SWR and wont

get
out very good . anyone have any ideas for a truck driver needing a good
location for HF bands?

Maybe the BB3 so no worries as to needing a tuner....but where to put

the
darn thing hehe

Any info would be appreciated
