Anyone that can not pass the 5wpm code...
Does not want to spend the time to learn the code... Does not have the time..... or what ever.... I can see where some peeps want the code dropped after all they do not test you on PSK or SSTV, however ...I do think that the 5wpm should stand. In an emergancy it may be needed. (to tell the truth, I took the cw test at 15wpm with the 5wpm pause between letters) I can do sstv and psk and have been playing with aprs. my 2 cents Joe From: "Slow Code" Subject: CW isn't preventing the modernization of ham radio. Date: Thursday, October 19, 2006 01:10 New Hams just don't want to modernize, they're lazy and don't want to have to learn anything. I'm a 20 wpm Extra and the code requirement didn't stop me from modernizing beyond a microphone and CW. So don't believe anyone that says CW is killing ham radio. They're just sick, lame or Lazy.
