This may just fit the bill. A while back I was looking for some good
ladder-line and was steered in this direction. It's just as easy to get the
entire doublet tho. Hope that helps, the 40m version has done a fine job for
me in the past.

Your best bet would be to go to www.arrl.org to order The ARRL Antenna
Book from their store. About 700 pages for $30 or so. It covers all
the popular wire antennas, as well as verticals and beams. To buy the
insulators, wire and feedline you'll need to home build an antenna, go
to net sites for The Wireman, RF Davis, etectera.

It's hard to give you a "brand" for a dipole since they are all
essentially the same, just wire and insulators. One isn't much better
than any other. You might as well build your own. Get a good antenna
book and you can try out a lot of different antenna ideas cheaply.

It occurred to me after my posting that he might be blind or
otherwise handicapped. Sorry if that's the case.

It's possible, but not neccesarily so. Although I myself don't mind
soldering up a dipole, I respect those who might want a ready-made example.

I read something re. handicapped hams in this month's issue of WorldRadio.
From the article 'Your CW fist on the air" by Dennis Franjlin, K6DF: "Don't
be so quick to judge the other operator's operating skills since we do not
know the circumstances under which they are operating." Not really related
directly to the subject, but your comment jogged my memory and I thought it
important enough to share.

BTW Cecil, I'm going to give one of my Radio Works antennas a whirl this
week. I'm putting up a SuperLoop 40 next week. I'll let you know how it
plays. Take care, Cecil and again, GL Frank. :-)
