I've used a Butternut HF6V for several years but the last ice storm took it's toll - plus, it's time to try something different in my small city space... Wow! funny you should mention that! I lost mine in the same storm front here in PA. The antenna got whipped around so much that the fiberglass/dowel joint pulled through the drill holes, then finally broke the tubing, and down it came. I had some more tubing of the right size, so the fix wasn't too hard Has anyone used the Gap Challenger, compared to other verticals, and could give an opinion? I haven't used one, but a Ham I know has - and liked the Butternut a lot more. He's pretty knowlegeable IMO, but that's just one data point. - 73 de Mike KB3EIA - |
