Only Applicable to UK readers (sorry) but I noticed that Sainsburys Home
Base (Norwich, Norfolk) have some stainless steel globes in their gardening section. Globes are £15 for one about a foot across and £20 for a larger 18 inch version. Quite a few of the balls on display had dents in them, so perhaps a lower price could be negotiated :-) Strikes me that these globes would make ideal anti corona/capacitance caps for high power LF vertical antennas or perhaps a suitable cap for a Tesla coil. Previously I have seen dedicated suppliers charge £80-£100 for this sort of stuff. Just thought this might be useful info especially if they are available across the UK. Mike G0ULI |
