I park in a parking garage at work, so my 2 meter anetnnae won't fit on the
car (P.T. Cruiser) while in the garage. Removing it, just before entering the garage is not an option. Does anyone have a recomendation on an alternate 2 meter antennae? Bruce Meyer www.kg4tac.net |

There is a motorized antenna for situations like yours. I have seen it in
AES and Ham Station literature.. Mitch KD4HTW "Bruce D. Meyer" wrote in message m... I park in a parking garage at work, so my 2 meter anetnnae won't fit on the car (P.T. Bruce,
I would think a 1/4 wave (about 19") should fit. 'Doc |

Just mount the thing lower on the car. Bob k5qwg |

You might consider a DDRR antenna. See
http://www.antennex.com/preview/2mddrr.htm. They are available commercially, too. Phil, KB2HQ "Bob Miller" wrote in message ... On Sun, 15 Feb 2004 02:30:24 GMT, "Bruce D. Had forgot about the DDRR -- After further checking , the geometry of it,
and the Excalibur, they are really the same antennas, just that the DDRR is formed into a circle, while the Excalibur is a straight line The Excalibur looks like : __X__________________ /__X__________________ , with the middle open, 1/4 wavelength long and as stated, "X's" would be the feedpoint ! is a "slot" antenna . These are related to aircraft antennas, where , a slot is cut into the frame, and then fed with R.F. You don't see it, as it is covered with fabric, plastic, or some other non-conductive media ! As a further aside, is used , in bombers, extensively, and have arrays of these , stacked in phase!! reason is if one, or 2 shot out, the antenna will still work, literally until the plane is destroyed! That is very cool. I have been reading about DDRR since the original post.
I still need to look for Excalibur. Bruce "Jim" wrote in message ... Does anyone have a recomendation on an alternate 2 meter antennae? A friend of mine just runs a mag-mount on his hood. MFJ advertises the RuffRider Junior 1402 as "fits in any garage on any auto". It is only 16.5" tall. -- 73, Cecil http://www.qsl.net/w5dxp -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! -----== Over 100,000 Newsgroups - 19 Different Servers! =----- |

Maybe Diamonds Motorized mount K9000 will work for you -- see URL:
