Maybe this is the source of a lot of confusion. If the Z0
of a transmission line changes from 50 ohms to 300 ohms,
that *IS* an impedance discontinuity. Any change in Z0
*IS* an impedance discontinuity, i.e. not a constant Z0.
Only a constant Z0 is not an impedance discontinuity.
