You think that's the problem, really?

There are many individuals I would like to see as my representatives,
even president. Do you think I will ever see them as contenders?

I think the same owners of McCain also own Obama, or shortly will ... :-(

Makes perfect sense to me. Government is supposed to be the people,
that is where the change MUST come from. You think those in power which
have usurped the peoples powers are the norm for True Americans? I
think not ...

Ask not what your government can do for you; Ask what you can do to

You guys really get me. You claim everyone is a conspiracy nut ...
perhaps you are correct--but, it would seem everyone BUT you. And,
perhaps your definition of "conspiracy nut" is something I hold in esteem.

First and formost, conspiracy is involved in most of what I do. I
conspire to raise my salary to the highest possible, I conspire to get
the benefits possible. I conspire to beat the system, legally, at every
possible turn I can. I conspire to see my family and friends served
before all others. I conspire to have the best looking resume possible.
I conspire to save every dime I can. I conspire to leverage every
possible asset I have to the maximum.

I know "conspiracy" exists "on the job", I was a union steward in my
late 20's and early 30's. If you don't think I have seen REAL
"conspiracies" on BOTH sides of the fence--then conspiracies are only in
my imagination. Perhaps Hoffas' death is only that? Perhaps the
Kennedys were not in a "conspiracy" to get Hoffa?

Now, what do you idiots do? Tell the world everything? (i.e.,
broadcast your punches?) Have no secrets? I mean, certainly, a retard
has fewer than a scholar! Could just be, I guess. This is what your
implications bring to my mind ...

Now, you, indeed, may be just as stupid as you continually shout from
the mountaintop! But, you make a very grave mistake--I think those
"like me" out number you by a good 10,000:1.

P.S. Frequently, I fall asleep working on my next "conspiracy" to get
me and mine ahead ... if that is nuts, so be it. Competition is high,
this economic disaster will only increase it; You can either play or
pay. From the market, looks many choose to pay.

It's a cinch we can't trust the regular media to properly cover this
administration because they even overtly promoted it, while at the same time
slamming the current administration over the war. The inability of the
previous administration to deal with it and the terrorist acts that were a

BTW censors who have a problem with this discussion can find a different
tree. It is well established that these topics are routinely hijacked
immediately. But in reality the Subject line of this thread must be a troll
for political discussion since universities, the media, business, government
are such targets for subversion.

Bush's failings, indeed the failings of the Republicans in general have been
their dumbfounded reaction to these criminal (or ignorant) acts of
democrats. The brazen point was made to regulators in the video above. He
was actually complaining that democrats needed more oversight to check their
own bad behavior. In reality it is hard to promote freedom and then have to
take a firm hand against those who exploit it. It is a big quandary. Big
government leads to corruption and domination, not big enough and it gets
overrun. Without widespread moral patriotism, freedom is lost. We have
lost this to demoralization.

Case in point, Nancy Pelosi seem to have in mind that the big three should
do what they are told by a dominant government overseer and be immediately
profitable to her tastes while they are dis-advantaged in the marketplace by
the active redistribution of wealth of the unions. Granted, management
shouldn't expect golden parachutes, but the lavish retirements of union
employees and high wages are a major drain on a crippled enterprise. It
really sounds like a plan to pay off the employees, cover up the problem and
throw jobs under the bus. Management will take the blame for the failure
and all the employees who are suddenly out of work with big mortgages will
hate them as they lose their mansions. I know a few right now. The real
answer for all this is immediate and localized accountability at all levels.
Bring back bonuses and commissions for productivity and loss for loss. Not
the unmanaged situation that exists now where exploitation and failure goes
unchecked at all levels, and go crying to someone for money to clean up the
wreckage. People need to have expectations of them or they won't succeed.
Unrealistic expectations just lead to demoralization and failure.

I also believe, their reporting depicted the true hope the "down
trodden" wish to place in Obama ... they are just sorely tired of being
sick and tired

This is like the people out here who get fired by their leftist bosses and
are told it's Bush's fault. Maybe if he shouts his indignation at Bush loud
and hard enough, the people who smacked him down will take pity and give him
his job back. This is like the battered wife hoping she can do better next
time, because her husband says he loves her and he will change, although the
beatings are worse every time. This is called demoralization. It is a
psychological process that conditions peoples reactions so that they are
unable to process fact, only react to stimuli. The next step is
destabilization. How is it in our best interest to destroy the economy and
throw record numbers of people out on the street? If people don't wake
pretty quick, you and I both will be taking a bullet in the head, because I
am a dissident and you because they won't have a need for you when you
finally realize were we are going. This realization must come from
Republicans and Democrats because we have been conditioned to extremes.
Socialists think we need more intervention, smothering, nationalist health
care and free drugs, free housing, loss of freedom and choice so we don't
endanger ourselves and our children. Where does teaching them homosexuality
and abortion fit in? It certainly facilitates conquest. Capitalists are
taught that Greed is good and that it is OK to prey on those around us.
This is where Rush Limbaugh does harm. It fans the flames of class envy.
The real answer to all this would be a shift in our thinking as voters,
legislators, and people at all levels in our government. In the true spirit
of patriotism and moderation, a conservatism could emerge that has a
healthy skepticism, a realization that no one should be trusted too much
with our welfare, and that we should first count all our fingers before
shaking hands in business. It is my hope that somehow enough people who are
resistant to the current conditioning can transcend the bi-polar thinking of
this nation before civil war breaks out.

Actually nothing works unless most people's attitudes are more level headed.
Any overseers are subject to the same pressures the causes the ones in place
to fail. I've known people that did ride-along only to wind up in prison or
loony bins because they were nothing but bullet stoppers/sitting ducks and
all the dope people knew about it. Somebody got to 'em. And too often the
cops and court system are completely ignorant about WHY a crime scene, and
just edit the how and who to what brings them a perceived victory. Even the
cops you know have an abbreviated philosophy geared to survival. Although
they are OK with you, the ones you don't know, automatically place you in
the "subject" class of probable criminals. They are no longer required to
support and defend the Constitution or the keep the peace, but to give
everybody a bad day at their own discretion.

It's just like the Dope War. There is big money in it. Do you think people
will let it go so easily? As long as people are stoned and dependent, they
will tend to seek that even if is self-destructive. If you want to see what
peer pressure can accomplish, google Jim Jones.

I still find this 1985 interview to be profound. The Psychology of it is
most profound. It shows how gullible we are to suggestion and how easily
and cheaply that can be exploited.
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x32cxf_yuri-bezmenov
I couldn't tell you if they still seek our destruction, but after at least 2
generations of programming it has certainly gone on automatic.

This is the problem with utilizing a scorched earth plan. It's like a
wildfire. Once you light it, you lose control of it until it burns out. It
only cost $2 for a box of matches and $100 million in fire fighting cost and
500 homes destroyed and 20 deaths before it is at least contained. Then 20
more deaths and 50 homes lost to flash floods and mud slides.

Indeed if you study Russia's own propaganda, they paint a picture of the US
as a crazy first strike threat, in order to feed the military/political
priority in their lives as a matter of survival.

My only answer to all this is for conservative people (not reactionary) to
establish their own media. All that is required is a challenge to
unthinking mantras to wake people's thought processes. Just as the doper
needs at least 6 months of rehab before the can even have a clear mind, and
at least another 6 months of rehab to learn the basic mechanics of using it
(or what's left of it). I would hope they lose their driving privilege and
voting right for that much time too. It is my thought that the drug problem
wasn't conceived by the Russians, but that they easily exploited our own
compromise (decadence) and loss of common sense.

In order for a union to work, there has to be money there that you can
squeeze out of the company. And you have to have a bargaining position. If
what you do prevents the company from having working capital or market
changes force the company into bankruptcy, where is your bargaining
position? If the company and it's industry is indeed viable, go for it.
Corporations have unions but they call them cartels. There has to be a
struggle against the causes of exploitation. You don't want to see
situations like two-tier for employees or CTA voting pay cuts across the
board so they don't lose members who pay dues. Even though they have
hostages. My dad was a teamster for several years, but the pay stunk anyway
so he went to insurance sales during a strike so we wouldn't have to live on
macaroni and cheese. I never cross picket lines, I buy American made
products only or go to the thrift store. OK, I admit it I have bought new
stuff made in China probably by slave or prison labor because you can't even
get some products that are American made anymore. I drive an American car.
This is where it all breaks down, because if you are fighting to get food on
the table and decent wages, there are 10,000 more going out and buying
products made with slave labor and doing volunteer work while living on
pensions. If UAW can't get dues, who will guarantee the pensions? Ponzi?

My other peeve is tons of money out of the retirement fund (PERS) to the
Dems, who have so many other agendas that they conflict. Like selling out
to Chi-comms. They got kicked out of Washington and Oregon, so the Dems
shut down and leased them Long Beach Naval Shipyard to bring in Megatons of
cheap crap into the country. Like gun control. Remember Matewan.
Abortion. Any one who is OK with taking away peoples Constitutional rights
and killing people who don't have a voice might not care about you or me
either. And what's with this gay crap. If people want to do stuff like
that, I certainly don't want it forced on me or my kids.

The Fannie May/Freddie Mac bad loans were guaranteed and forced on the banks
by gov't. mandate and Barney Frank has been saying since 2004 that there was
nothing wrong, even while another Dem was saying it was the regulator's
fault for allowing it (ie we need more cops). I guess that makes Barney
some kind of expert.

As I implied in my previous post, it can be hard to convince people that
they need to responsible and realize that the only way they can get what
they want, need and be prepared for illness and old age, is with their
own hands and job (or, start their own business) ... there still exists
the myth that they can work for cheap with no benefits or retirement,
GUARANTEED, funds and it "will all just work out", or "someone will
provide for them."

If you are working for a company, or in your own business or contracting
and the result is less than satisfactory, quit and go elsewhere. The
crash of the stock market and the future coming times shows the folly of
a "positive attitude", based on irrational grounds.

There seems to be a "myth" going around that "it will all just work
out." And, one can work at a poverty wage and "get ahead."

Like I pointed out, many are ready to fight rather than come to their
senses. My wifes parents worked hard their whole lives. Somehow they
were sold the dream that all it took was hard work and they would be
rewarded--they now are attempting to exist on social security, needless
to say, it ain't workin'! If my father-in-law was a retired UAW worker,
he would have a much different story!

It is fine all these companies run about not providing well for their
workers--but, just let them pay the welfare-funds/medical/drug/etc.
needs of their workers in their old age--NOT ME, my family, or my friends!

*The
crash of the stock market and the future coming times shows the folly of
a "positive attitude", based on irrational grounds.

There seems to be a "myth" going around that "it will all just work
out." *And, one can work at a poverty wage and "get ahead."

Like I pointed out, many are ready to fight rather than come to their
senses. *My wifes parents worked hard their whole lives. *Somehow they
were sold the dream that all it took was hard work and they would be
rewarded--they now are attempting to exist on social security, needless
to say, it ain't workin'! *If my father-in-law was a retired UAW worker,
he would have a much different story!

John, some years back the Government aproved the removal of a
percentage of pensioin funds
for their own use as long as the pensions were not in jeopody. In
other words if the funds earned more money than expected
then the company could use that money. So the majority of pension
funds were kept at the prescibed minimum level.
Now pension funds have turned south and the businesses have also
turned south such that they cannot replace the funds removed.
This little pot has started to simmer but has yet to get to the
boiling point. As Yogi Bear said i9t aint over until it is over!
Everything was OK when we let the market decide but then greed changed
the metric of the market.

YES! Indeed, it is much worse than that, the gov't has also used SSI
funds by "tossing them into "general funds",
questionable-investing-of-these-funds, etc." Now, they attempt to
"resell" us our SSI with increased taxes and "increased fees." (just
another name for "tax(s.)")

Ever notice how they end up taking library and other public service
funds, tossing 'em into a general fund, then reselling us the services,
again-and-again-and-again-... well, most DON'T seem to! I just brought
this up at a board of supes meeting in my city, and was threated with
removal from the room ... (well, I did get a bit "hot", seems hot
enough to get a few others to take a verbal stance) Anyway, we
convinced "them" NOT to shorten library hours--at least.

It is time for investigative reporting, FBI/congressional investigations
and criminal proceedings against the guilty parties.

Instead, we are getting "bailouts" which reward the very crooks and
powers-which-be which are responsible for this fine mess! And, NOT one
word of closing the "loopholes." (DEFINITION: loophole = sanctioned
criminal activity!)

JS

It still all goes back to accountability. The majority of voters have
turned into children and allowed these things to flourish. The stupidest
people are the ones who sign petitions at grocery stores. No time to read
it or even evaluate the claims. Even the press that we all thought would be
a vanguard of freedom have turned into shills or are yes men (women) who say
it is OK to report on "what somebody said" even if it's a crock.

I have been to city council meetings too. Not long ago the idiots outvoted
the only sane one of em to "get in on" a abandon vehicle abatement tax of $1
on the vehicle license fees of which 50 cents would go back to the city.
When they found there were further requirements to get the money, they wound
up passing new ordinances to prohibit storage of vehicles in the driveway or
on your own property so that they could tow away enough vehicles for carbon
credits or some such nonsense. Since then I have vowed to vote no on any
legislation that isn't concise.

Another definition of loophole: The product of deceptive legislation that
through obfuscation, nullifies itself so that it may be perceived as "doing
good" while opponents are vilified.

Although no law can truly nulify itself since it can always be used as a
tool for the next more powerfull and ruthless regime.
