I just put up a 160 G5RV antenna. Is 140 foot of 50 0hm coax required
to make yhis antenna work?

The length of coax doesn't matter. What matters is that
the antenna is 1.5WL on 40m and the series matching
section is 0.5WL on 40m. After that, what you get is
what you get.

I'm not sure what a "160 G5RV" is. This tells you all about the real
G5RV, written by the inventor himself:

And this shows how it performs:

You can use a G5RV on 160 by strapping the feeders to give you a Marconi
T-style antenna, but it's a pretty poor compromise.

I assumed it was a double-sized G5RV whose design
frequency is 40m - hope I was right.

Only if that's the length required to get it into the house to your
radio.
