What matters is that the antenna is 1.5WL on 40m and the series matching section is 0.5WL on 40m. After that, what you get is what you get. -- 73, Cecil http://www.w5dxp.com |

Date: Tue, 25 Nov 2008 Time: 08:56:36 I just put up a 160 G5RV antenna. Is 140 foot of 50 0hm coax required to make yhis antenna work? I'm not sure what a "160 G5RV" is. This tells you all about the real G5RV, written by the inventor himself: http://www.gw0rtp.co.uk/antenna/g5rv/g5rv.php And this shows how it performs: http://antennagraphs.com/ne8r_G5RV.htm You can use a G5RV on 160 by strapping the feeders to give you a Marconi T-style antenna, but it's a pretty poor compromise. -- 73 Ian, G3NRW |
