Is anyone aware of a small directional antenna that is useful for direction finding at VHF? My understanding is that Doppler antennas work only while moving (true?) and what I need is a directional antenna that can be used while at rest. Low efficiency and relatively broad main lobe are OK as long as physical size is small. Thanks, George K6GW Have a look at the HB9CV designs. The physical size is quite small and mechanical construction is not difficult. I have a commercial one for 70cm at it works well and is small and easy to work with.
