That will work if that's what you want to do. The radio's ferrite antenna replaces the 2 turn pickup loop. If you want to be able to do both, include the pickup loop anyway. Good luck! tom K0TAR Hi there, I have had some experience with BCB boosters and found that it works best with a long wire coupled to a loop that is grounded. The radio I was using had a built in antenna wound inside the case and the untuned loop coupled very nicely to the radio. With a ferrite rod inside the radio it might not work so well.
