propagation could have changed. The K1 is packed with cw stuff that I have no
clue about would like to learn as qrp is a lot of kit building and homebrew and
a wealth of knowledge is necessary.

FWIW, the Patcomm is also just a 2-band rig.

If you are an ARRL member, you might look some of these rigs up in the
Product Reviews Section of the ARRL website -- they do a pretty good
job of laying out what a rig will do in CW and other modes.
