Fred,
Well with the Outbacker for change the tap (and recoil the wire from bottom to desired tap) as you change bands. IF you are a constant band changer - it will drive you crazy (like your Hustler), BUT the positive is all you have to change is the tap -- no coils to remember or store in the trunk My Outbacker is out on the patio and I find it is seasonal of what bands I leave it at w9gb "Fred" wrote in message ... Are there any of you out there that are using or have used the Outbacker antennas, especially the Perth Plus. I am getting tired of changing resonators on my hustler whe I am mobile and I don't like the many quirks that the screwdriver antennas have. I would like to hear from you guys before I shoot a bunch of bucks on a piece of gear that may not work that well. The hustler works like gangbusters. I would like to have another antenna that works as well yet like the Outbacker all one has to do is change the tap plug in and go with no more tuning required. Thanks in advance 73 de KE8TQ Fred |

About 8 dB down from the top bugcatchers and screwdrivers on 75m. -- 73, Cecil http://www.qsl.net/w5dxp -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! -----== Over 80,000 Newsgroups - 16 Different Servers! =----- |

When I got a new vehicle I replaced my Hustler system with an Outbacker
Perth. I did this because the Outbacker makes such a nice neat installation that does not attract a lot of attention. It works well for me but I mostly operate on 20-10. I really can't tell any difference on these bands versus the Hustler. Larry Fred wrote: Are there any of you out there that are using or have used the Outbacker antennas, especially the Perth Plus.
