My Yaesu ATU gives up at 5:1, so I have been using a more robust homebrew tuner. A VSWR of up to say 10:1 (perhaps 15:1) shouldn't be a deal killer, if you can match the coax and are willing to accept 2-3 dB of loss. This opens up a lot of antenna possibilities that might be otherwise discarded. |
