![]() "Jaap" wrote in message ... HI, I'm thinking about building a multi turn loop for 80 meters, using in for TX and RX purpose. This would be a loop thats 1 meter big and 5 turns. Is there anyone who has tried this before? I use a 1.4m diam single turn loop for 160-15m which is quite successful on 80m. The ARRL Ant book says that multiturn loops aren't that much better than single turn loops if the coils are too close. It might be better to use the tubing to make a larger (3-4m?) single turn loop. The same source says that radials can improve mag loop performance. However I found that 3 radials 2x loop diameter made no difference. 73, Peter VK3YE |
