![]() "Jaap" wrote in message ... HI, I'm thinking about building a multi turn loop for 80 meters, using in for TX and RX purpose. This would be a loop thats 1 meter big and 5 turns. Is there anyone who has tried this before? Jaap PA3DTR ================================ A multiturn loop on 80m is hopelessly inefficient for transmitting purposes. It is roughly 80 dB down on 1/4-wave vertical. Furthermore, for a Tx power output a lot less than a watt, the volts across the tuning capacitor will be 10Kvolts or more - if you can find or make one. For the performance of multi-turn receiving loops download program RJELOOP3 from website below. For the performance of single-turn transmitting loops download program MAGLOOP4. -- ----------------------------------------------------- Regards from Reg, G4FGQ For free radio design and modelling software go to - http://www.btinternet.com/~g4fgq.regp ----------------------------------------------------- |
