Default Yaesu Rotor Repair

Anyone know of a rotor repair service, other than Yaesu, for the G-800SDX
rotor. Have a unit in need of repair and after much searching have come up
with nothing. Checked all the old favorites, Norms, Rotor Doctor (CATS),
etc., none mention the Yaesu line of rotors.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sam -

If you don't send it to Yaesu for service - it is up to you to repair.

Some web pages have information on minor repairs (e.g. ball bearing
replacement) --
BUT the limited availability of some parts (e.g. only from Far East if Yaesu
USA does not have part in stock) -
limits options. Norm's Rotor Service was recently purchased from original
owner (MD) and moved to Alabama.

I have taken a couple of them apart and they look like they were copied from
the old HD-73 rotors...I have replaced the brake disc with the 73 rotors and
all worked ok......i just never liked a rotor that used a piece of sand paper
to hold a rotor in place...

Try Tim Davidson W3PLC:

http://www.tdcommunications.net/services1.htm

He did a nice repair job on my seriously scrambled FT-847 very
inexpensively while I sat there and watched. Nice shop, outstanding
individual. He doesn't specifically state in his list of services that
he fixes rotators but he mentioned that he does. You can't lose much
by asking him the question.
