Default Horizontal Omni Antenna

Does anyone know of any pointers on how to construct a horizontal omni
antenna in the 900Mhz to 5.8Ghz? Not wide band like that just something
that works somewhere in there. Just real curious how horizontal omnis work
and would like to experiment with one somewhere in that band.

Matt

Hi Matt,

Folded Dipole, bent into a circle or square with care not to bring the
opposite ends into contact. The feed point half should have a thinner
thickness than the folded back half.

Hi Matt

I have done some work with three leaf clovers, both singly and stacked.
probably not real effective/easy to build on the higher freqs tho..

Stacking can help some of the nulls that appear.

Now and then I see an antenna that looks like a folded dipole,
bent into an S shape. I believe these are for omnidirectional
FM broadcast reception. Does anyone know if these are good
for 2-meter SSB?
