product of Vf and If is independent of Zo.

Yep, sorry, brain fart. Should have been a '/' instead of a '*'.
The point was (is) that (Vfwd + Vref) can be zero but in a feedline
with reflections Vfwd and Vref cannot be zero. Same for the component
currents.
