hi

Realize this is perhaps a long shot but cavities and filters arent my
bag...

I live in a 12 story apt building that has a master tv antenna

the standard tv type but rather a bit larger than usual

it's fed via coax and not sure whats on the roof but asume some sorta
dist amp

on each floor is a bunch of spliters to break the coax into 'ports' for
each apt bout 6 per floor

just wondering a really crazy wackey thought

would their be anyway i could use this as a hf antenna while somehow
isolating it from doing damage to the tv's , amps ???

it would be basically to be a low impact stealth install obv if i
install anything the buidlng mgt would be involved but people passing on
the street wouldn't know.

Have a discussion with building management. You management has to
accommodate the satellite dishes, per earlier FCC ruling.
You may get an understanding management team. They could actually make $$
if they updated the system for DishTV (or DirecTV). I have a friend who has
his own business (design, install, maintenance) full-time in Chicago area
for a number of management companies (apartment complexes; planned
communities). It is a good alternative to cable TV proposals or old MATV
systems.
Management companies like it .. since there is only one dish and head-end
for building (does away with porcupine dishes on side of building and
patios).

Your approach (IMHO) will not work and should not be pursued.

Rather, have a discussion with building management. You would want to run
ONE cable from your apartment to roof and your antenna on the roof. Your
busiling management has likley been appraoched by other tenants (for
mounting satellite dishes - erlier tie-in) AND by cellualr phone companies
looking to place antennas on their roof. However, they are waving $$ in
front of their eyes (which should reduce your rent or increase their profit)
... you pay rent (eave your $$ ) during discussion.
