I'm in need of a replacement CT-3 20/30m trap for my Cushcraft R7000

because my version is 1996.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Even if they still sold it they'd charge more than the antenna is worth.

Take the trap apart and see how bad it is. You may be able to rewind it.
Or it could be just the connections...the rivets seem to work loose after
a while, at least they did on mine. I replaced the rivets with screws
that can be re-tightened as required. You'll have to drill the dimples
that hold the trap together but then they should slide apart pretty
easily. Make sure you label the top & bottom coils so you can put them
together correctly...:-). If the coil form is melted you may be SOL but
I'd give it a look.

Or, find a used or junked one...

I also use some of that anti-oxidation paste made for aluminum house
wiring on all the aluminum-to-aluminum joints and it seems to help. Get a
tube of it at Home Depot or Lowe's or equivalent.

The R7000 is not designed all that well, IMO. I have to fiddle with mine
a couple times/year. When it works, it works fairly well but sure can be
a PITA to keep running.
